The Cedar House was loaded with character from the hardwood floors, custom woodwork, and the spacious rooms. So many possibilities! As we all know, a successful renovation starts with a solid plan. As we started our journey, we always kept one thought in the forefront — “expect the unexpected.”
Hardwood floors offer the extra allure of charm and a little history. Definitely a feature of the Cedar House! Refinishing old floors needed the expertise of a skilled contractor. David Kious of Heights Hardwood Floor Service came to our rescue. He donated his crew to refinish the entire second-floor pro bono. What a blessing! And with the magic of color, Haley Cavotta, Phil Gaeta and eight other professional painters donated their time to paint the walls top to bottom in one day. And, at the foundation of it all, good plumbing. Planning and installing a system that’s quiet, efficient, and leak free is something of an art and the Cedar House’s fragile plumbing system needed an overhaul. We put the project in the capable hands of contractor Dave Hodous.
There are so many others that donated time, money and effort in making the Cedar House a reality and we are so grateful. Thank you to everyone involved — we couldn’t have done it without you!
